A Lost Love

Its been almost a month since I have seen you.  I have seen the stars in the sky.  I have seen sunsets and sunrises, but I haven’t seen your beautiful face.  My heart breaks into a million pieces. So small, they could be passed through a tightly woven blanket.  That blanket keeps me warm unlike your body next to mine.  I need you like the flower needs the sun.  Like the flower needs the sun in the deep winter to survive. Instead of beauty the flower shows, it is hardened like my heart in the deepest of caves.  I find every day winter that you are not here.  Hope endures so I may get through the day and especially the night. The hope that the month past will not be the last time I look upon you.  My heart yearns for you as true as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West.

Yours Truly,

Scott Pio
